United Airlines Intern - Talent Management (Summer 2025) in Chicago, Illinois

Description

United Airlines is currently seeking a motivated Talent Management Intern to join our Human Resources team. This role is crucial in supporting our HR professionals in driving talent management initiatives across various groups within the company. The intern will work closely with the team to understand HR strategies, assist in the development and implementation of talent management programs, and establish connections with potential candidates to ensure a pipeline of qualified talent for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Talent Management team members to develop and implement talent management strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Assist in the coordination of talent management processes, including performance management, talent reviews, employee listening strategy, and succession planning.

  • Engage with the HR team to brainstorm innovative approaches to talent management, optimize resources, and share information to enhance HR processes.

  • Develop content, resources and other supporting materials to help inform leaders and employees of United’s talent management approach

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate talent management practices with broader HR initiatives and business strategies.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current undergraduate or Master's student

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written), professional image, positive attitude, team orientation, organizational and interpersonal skills required

  • Manage multiple tasks, detail oriented, responsive, and demonstrate independent thought and critical thinking required

  • Flexibility in adapting to and responding quickly to changing priorities and deadlines required

  • Customer-friendly attitude required

  • High energy, ability to learn quickly required

Experience:

  • Internship or work experience preferred

  • Experience in talent management is a plus

Other

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
