Aeris Communications Manager – Financial Planning and Analysis in Chicago, Illinois

As Manager of FP&A on the Finance team you will work with senior Finance leaders as well as non-finance stakeholders to understand the story behind the numbers, develop a robust and repeatable approach to budgeting, and improve forecasting across the business.  You will have direct interaction with leadership and will influence the success of the company through a recurring continuous improvement approach.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage a cross-functional FP&A approach to monitor the business and to identify and execute on opportunities for operational improvement.

  • Support the development of long-term financial planning and incorporate company strategy into financial projection models

  • Establish culture of data-driven decision making by leveraging depth of financial experience to challenge inputs, assumptions, and thought processes as appropriate

  • Maintain normalized financials (QofE and adjusted NWC) as a basis to communicate the economic reality of the business to senior leadership  

  • Leverage variance analysis to identify performance trends and think critically to develop recommendations for operational improvement

  • Perform scenario analysis of financial outcomes based on a range of operational levers impacting the business

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for leadership and Board of Directors

  • Leverage technology to build scalable processes supporting insightful and robust reporting

  • Work cross-functionally to improve data integrity and to ensure systems interface properly with relevant tools

  • Provide analytical and execution expertise on M&A transactions from pre-acquisition due diligence through post-acquisition integration

  • Partner with VP Finance & Corporate Strategy on components of larger operational improvement initiatives while leading smaller initiatives independently

Qualifications:

  • Track record of continuous progression in a finance or accounting function, performing financial analyses and budgeting / forecasting

  • 7-10+ years of total experience, with 5+ years of experience in corporate finance, public accounting, or consulting

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Business is preferred, MBA preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; effective in communicating financial matters to non-finance people

  • Experience or interest in technology industry preferred
