JPMorgan Chase Middle Office Business Manager, Vice President in Chicago, Illinois

Commercial Banking delivers extensive industry knowledge, local expertise and seamless global capabilities to clients-including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, real estate investors and owners, and not-for-profit organizations-with annual revenue generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion. We offer a comprehensive set of financial products and services including credit, asset-based lending, real estate finance and treasury and also provide clients with access to investment banking and asset management services.

As a Business Manager Vice President within the Middle Office organization, you will gain visibility into major initiatives, business metrics, financials, and data insights to achieve strategic objectives. This role offers a high-impact opportunity as part of our Finance & Business Management team, ensuring senior management across the Commercial Bank.

Job responsibilities

  • Partner with Middle Office and Commercial Bank Finance & Business Management to prepare executive presentations - ability to package and present projections and performance trends by bringing financials and data together to tell a cohesive story

  • Design management reporting packages to communicate business results in a transparent and concise manner

  • Coordinate deliverables with business managers, finance, project managers and other Finance & Business Management teams

  • Conduct analysis and create executive level presentation using PowerPoint/ PitchPro+ Analyze complex data sets, assess KPI trends, and create impactful analysis using statistical analysis tools to assist in developing strategy

  • Partner with Middle Office and Commercial Bank Finance & Business Management team to budget and forecast headcount and direct expenses

  • Optimize 'bottom line' business performance by driving key initiatives in alignment with business strategy (fees, cost base, RWA and capital utilization)

  • Identify, escalate and mitigate business risks that could impair our ability to do business: e.g. legal, tax, regulatory, capacity issues, extraordinary transaction costs

  • Analyze financial performance, including expenses; identify productivity initiatives and drive implementation

  • Represent business in respective internal/external working groups

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area

  • Knowledge and excessive experience in PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills

  • Present well to senior and global business heads

  • Able to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions

  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to influence and provide strategic insights across all stakeholder groups

  • Able to both define and deliver to conclusion a strategic agenda across multiple groups

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely

  • Excellent project management and organizational skill with attention to detail with logical thought process

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau/Alteryx/Qlik), databases and SQL querying

  • Experience in front office business support, sales and/or prior Business Management or Chief Operating Office
