Purpose of Role:
Payroll Specialist will be responsible for preparing, inputting and processing U.S. & Canadian payrolls as well as with compliance for regulatory/tax authorities. Responsible for the delivery of other functions of the payroll department including payroll accounting, benefits administration, reporting and year end processes.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparation of semi-monthly U.S. payroll reconciliation spreadsheets
Manage all input of semi-monthly U.S. payroll changes, including, new hires, terms, other data changes
Inquire, research and set up SUI, State and other tax jurisdictions as necessary
Collate payroll/benefits changes for the Canada payroll provider
Responsible for maintaining HR data records to properly record any pay related changes in the payroll system.
Liaise with Finance team on all related payroll inquiries and collaborate cross functionally with other areas of the organization
Assist in processing 401k enrollments
Assist with 401k Non-discrimination testing and 401k annual audit
Assist with set-up of new tax jurisdictions\
Assist with garnishments, verifications of employment and unemployment claims
Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
Respond timely to employee payroll inquiries
Assist the US HR department as needed
Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Skills and Experience
Experience of US payroll systems (preferably ADP Workforce Now)
Advanced MS Excel Skills
At least 3-5 years of direct payroll experience
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business or related field required
Experience with both exempt and non-exempt employee populations
Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
