Key Responsibilities:

United's Digital Technology team designs, develops, and maintains massively scaling technology solutions brought to life with innovative architectures, data analytics, and digital solutions.

We're seeking a top-tier Principal Data Architect to be a key leader in shaping our organization's data strategy and infrastructure. You will be responsible for the overall vision, design, and implementation of our data architecture, ensuring it aligns with our business goals and drives maximum value.

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud data architectures on platforms like AWS

  • Develop data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading into cloud data warehouses and data lakes

  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions

  • Select and implement appropriate data governance and security practices to ensure data privacy and compliance

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of the cloud data infrastructure

  • Innovate with latest cloud data technologies and trends

  • Document and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Build analytical data models and products that makes analytics consumption easier and faster

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing data architectures

  • 7+ years of experience in data warehousing, data lakes, and data governance concepts

  • 5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • 5+ years of experience with data pipeline tools and technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka)

  • Superb communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree

  • Airline Experience

  • Experience with data modeling techniques.

  • Experience with big data technologies like Databricks

  • Experience with BI, AI and GenAI tools and technologies

  • Experience with cloud security best practices.

  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Solutions Architect).
