Ci3 is a research center at the University of Chicago within the Section of Complex Family Planning that seeks to address the social and structural determinants of adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Job Summary

Ci3 is looking for a Research Coordinator who will work collaboratively with the research team and affiliated Ci3 faculty to design and execute research focused on understanding and improving access to sexual and reproductive health. The Research Coordinator works across a range of projects, using qualitative and quantitative methods. The Research Coordinator leads implementation of studies, with a focus on managing institutional compliance and technical support. The Research Coordinator will also lead recruitment and scheduling of research subjects and participate in data collection, analysis, and dissemination.

The job participates in scientific research projects. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Writes articles, reports and manuscripts. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.

This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by contractual grant funding which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the contract. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these grant funds and satisfactory job performance.

Responsibilities

  • Leads implementation of studies using qualitative and quantitative methods, including the development of new research protocols.
  • Leads IRB protocol development and ensures study compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Leads technical and administrative support for research projects, including data-use agreements, contracts, e-payment services, participant incentives, and other financial transactions.
  • Leads recruiting and scheduling of research subjects; assists with developing or amending study protocols; leads development of data collection tools; assists with building databases; and provides general administrative support. Has general awareness in research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and relevant scientific field.
  • Supports data collection, including: cleaning, analyzing, managing, and interpreting data; conducting literature reviews; drafting study instruments and protocols; assisting in training; collecting data using interviews, focus groups, surveys, and other techniques.
  • Contributes to grant proposals and reporting. Conducts literature reviews as well as contributes to manuscript writing and editing for publication.
  • Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects. Conducts literature reviews and helps write reports and manuscripts. Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
  • Takes responsibility for the following non-laboratory duties: transcribing and coding data; developing data collection instruments; presenting research; and recruiting and scheduling r search subjects. Acquires higher-level skills and knowledge in the process.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in public policy, public health, social work, social sciences, or a relevant field.
  • Master\'s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MPH, MPP, MA).

Experience:

Research experience, preferably in sexual and reproductive health.

Skillful in collecting qualitative data (e.g., interviews, focus groups).

Working knowledge analyzing qualitative data using software (e.g., Dedoose).

Basic familiarity with quantitative analysis approaches and software (e.g. SPSS, Stata).

Experience managing research projects, including administrative and technical responsibilities such as IRB compliance and expense management.
