Senior Buyer

If so, we want you to join us at Restaurant Depot as a Senior Buyer and become an integral part of our organization. Restaurant Depot is a premier nationwide food service distributor operating over 150 warehouses, 3 regional corporate offices, and distribution centers in 38 states in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans to drive customer count and sales growth

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and consumer needs to ensure product offerings remain competitive and appealing

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring excellent pricing, quality, and support

  • Manage procurement of new and existing products while maintaining optimal inventory levels and turnover rates

  • Collaborate with corporate and store personnel to ensure timely delivery of products and contract compliance

  • Monitor and report on sales, budgets, and customer satisfaction metrics

  • Attend tradeshows and industry events to stay current on market trends and emerging opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a buyer or relevant role in fresh or frozen commodities

  • Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education)

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating and adherence to purchasing best practices

  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, conditional formatting, pivot tables, macros, and data simulations

  • Experience with product research, specification development, and industry standard compliance

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams
