BUNZL Senior Sales Manager in Chicago, Illinois

Description

This position is responsible for creating, developing and driving sales for assigned specified market. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate sales, marketing and customer service activities, including development and execution of overall sales strategies, order processing and customer communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountability and ownership for the day-to-day management of sales representatives, customer service and marketing departments

  • Responsible and accountable for the continuous daily pursuit of major prospective customers

  • Responsible for creating and or driving organic sales and margin initiatives.

  • Demonstrate leadership competency to motivate and engage employees via in person, telephone, and other technologies. Maintain consistent presence throughout the market.

  • Provide superior training and development and hire top talent to improve the sales and marketing organizational performance.

  • Monitor and drive the sales and profitability of all team members and coach team to achieve set goals.

  • Drive continued development and relationships of key customers and target accounts with on-going growth to meet or exceed established expectations.

  • Communicate and coordinate with internal staff (purchasing, warehousing, and accounting staff) to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability.

  • Drive a strong customer service culture and build deeper and wider relationships with current and prospective customers.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales management experience with a proven track record selling in competitive markets

  • Demonstrated ability to understand market in which you are selling and the deployment of resources that ensure maximum coverage and product exposure

  • Strong PC skills required, ERP (Sage X3 a plus) , PowerPoint, Excel and other Microsoft products. Power BI preferred

  • Travel required throughout the market. Expected to be in each market location as needed
