Sargent & Lundy Staff Accountant in Chicago, Illinois

Essential duties and responsibilities for Staff Accountant include:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations

  • Assist with month and year-end close process

  • Join Venture accounting and preparation of Joint Venture financial statements

  • Assist with preparing and assembling information for interim and year-end audits

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects

  • Other general accounting duties as assigned

    This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with the expectation of 3 days in our downtown Chicago office and 2 days working remotely from home.

Qualifications

This position requires:

  • BS or MS in Accounting

  • CPA candidacy desirable but not required

  • 1-2 years accounting experience

  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and sound business judgment

  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional areas

  • Advanced skills in Excel

  • Deltek CostPoint experience a plus
