Robert Half Staff Accountant in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves a range of accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time.

• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all financial data aligns.

• Maintain general ledger, recording all financial transactions in an organized manner.

• Prepare journal entries as required, ensuring all financial transactions are accounted for.

• Conduct month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is updated and accurate.

• Manage Fixed Asset Accounting, maintaining accurate records of company assets.

• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to manage financial operations.

• Ensure all financial operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.

• Collaborate with the financial team to improve accounting processes and procedures.

• Assist with other accounting tasks as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures and systems

• Capability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner

• Solid understanding and experience of working with General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries as per company standards

• Expertise in performing Month End Close procedures effectively

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP accounting software

• Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting is essential

• Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while ensuring attention to detail

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is desired

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and data analysis.
