Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Restaurants & Catering industry in Chicago, Illinois. The position involves a variety of tasks including processing financial information, maintaining accounts, and ensuring financial compliance within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and maintaining financial records for monthly balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss statements.

• Assisting in budgeting processes for assigned restaurants.

• Serving as a liaison between store leadership and the finance department for assigned restaurants.

• Handling bank account reconciliations and implementing policies to address fraudulent transactions.

• Preparing and filing city and state monthly and annual sales tax returns.

• Processing sales reconciliations monthly for assigned restaurants.

• Ensuring accurate recording and payment of all Accounts Payable (AP) invoices.

• Managing weekly and monthly processing of necessary journal entries for assigned stores.

• Ensuring all W-9 info is on file for vendors to ensure 1099 files can be completed accurately and timely.

• Reviewing rent/CAM statements annually for possible overpayments. Requirements • Proven experience in the role of Staff Accountant or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations and maintaining General Ledger

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries and manage Month End Close activities

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Strong numeric skills and ability to handle large volumes of data

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
