Schedule: All Year Full TimePay:Negotiable

Position Description:The Fuel Dock Operator oversees all aspects of fuel sales, from safe and efficient dispensing to public and fishermen, to inventory control, regulatory compliance, and environmental testing, while also training overseeing the Fisherman Services Operator and Office Assistant to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:Oversee the safe and efficient sale of gasoline, diesel fuel, and propane to the public and fishing fleet. Manage fuel inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, and sales records. Conduct regular inspections of fuel tanks and dispensing equipment for safety and compliance. Maintain accurate financial records for fuel sales through daily reports to the Office Assistant. Ensure adherence to all environmental regulations regarding fuel storage and handling. Conduct inspections and environmental testing for the cannery property. Assist and oversee the Fisherman Services Operator as needed, particularly during peak seasons. Assist and oversee the Office Assistant ensure that all paperwork is filed and submitted correctly. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all fuel dock operations. Maintain valid bulk fuel operator certification (Alaska DEC Class A and B recommended). Train Fisherman Services Operator and Office Assistant on SOPs to ensure consistent and compliant operations. Regularly review and update SOPs based on best practices and user feedback. Participate in ongoing safety training programs and inspection/environmental testing training (if applicable).

Reporting and Communication:

Report directly to the City Manager/Mayor on a weekly basis, providing updates on Fuel operations, Fisherman's services, Cannery office and bunkhouse operations. Meet regularly with the Office assistant review daily sales records, inventory reports, and any relevant documents for access by the main office. Meet regularly with the City Clerk to review and evaluate cannery operations and reporting.

Qualifications:

Experience in fuel sales and operations preferred Strong understanding of safety protocols for handling and storing flammable liquids. Excellent customer service skills. Proficient record-keeping and inventory management skills. Experience in a management position.
