Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. Responsibilities You will support in network administration, maintenance planning, and support for new and upgraded computer system projects at Tactical Air Range Integration Facility (TARIF). You will support Tactical Training Ranges with accreditation and compliance for Adaptive Combat Environmental Systems (ACES) hardware and software used on 36 USN, USAF, and USA tactical aircrew training ranges. You will maintain and administer TARIF computer networks and related systems, ensuring security requirements, sustainment, and accreditations are met. You will configure new computer hardware for installations at DoD ranges and install computer systems at TARIF to meet customer requirements. You will work on configuring development system backups, assisting with local computer network projects, and conducting system security evaluations and testing. You will provide integrated hardware/software solutions and technical support for Tactical Combat Training Systems (TCTS) and subsystem electronic and computer systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/10) or pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Supporting network administration, maintenance planning, and support for new and upgraded computer system projects at Tactical Air Range Integration Facility (TARIF); 2) Maintaining and administering TARIF computer networks and related systems, ensuring security requirements, sustainment, and accreditations are met; 3) Configuring new computer hardware for installations at DoD ranges and install computer systems at TARIF to meet customer requirements; 4) Demonstrating familiarity with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), vulnerability patching, and troubleshooting. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. OR Have successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
