The Strategic Procurement Manager will execute strategic procurement tasks and processes for the Dies line of business for assigned projects and/or commodities. This will include developing effective supply chain partnerships located in best cost region, driving supplier performance, managing supplier risk, leading negotiations and initiatives to consolidate part numbers, optimize supplier base, and minimize material spend, and collaborating with Nordson\'s global procurement resources to leverage global scale. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities * Utilize 80/20 approach to evaluate and develop supply chain partnerships with a view to locate from best cost region * Build and execute a process to manage and optimize supplier performance and risk * Drive achievement of supplier Quality, OTD and Continuous Improvement value-add targets * In collaboration with engineering, support initiatives to consolidate part numbers * Plan and execute consolidation of supplier base to leverage scale * Plan and execute projects and initiatives to continuously improve and simplify purchasing payment conditions * Plan and execute projects and initiatives to continuously reduce overall material spend, direct and indirect * Contribute along with peers, using make vs. buy analysis of certain processes to arrive at effective business outcomes * Minimize working capital through continuous improvement of supplier stocking arrangements to market demand volumes * If assigned, lead projects and initiatives to continuously reduce indirect spend, including freight/logistics categories * Collaborate with global Nordson procurement teams to leverage scale and exchange best practice * Manage any procurement-related analysis and reporting * Drive continuous improvement through everyday application of the Nordson Business System (NBS Next) * Collaborate with Supply Chain Managers in other PPS locations, Germany, China and Japan. Education and Experience * University degree or diploma in business or relevant technology preferred * More than 8 years of related procurement business experience, with 3 years of supervisory in leadership role * Excellent written and verbal communications skills at all levels * Strong interpersonal and networking skills to manage a wide range of stakeholders including maintaining excellent relationships within the Nordson organization at all levels * Highly proactive with the ability to make decisions and drive all areas of the business * Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines * Solid business acumen, problem solving skills Working Conditions and Physical Demands Office environment.
