Virgin Islands Legislature Chauffeur/Vehicle Detailer (P/T) in Christiansted, Virgin Islands

position summary [Chauffeur/Vehicle Detailers will be required to drive the Legislatures vehicles in a safe and efficient manner while conducting official business. He/she is required to provide pick-up, drop-off and delivery services including loading and offloading work related and personal belongings. Additionally, he/she is also required to ensure vehicles remain in excellent condition (cleaning of interior and exterior of the vehicle) and must promptly report maintenance issues or damages.]{franklin="" gothic="" book",sans-serif"=""} Duties and responsibilities - Properly maintain interior and exterior of vehicles, including cleaning (utilizing brushes, power washing equipment and vacuum) and sanitizing - Ensure vehicle is free from known hazards prior to use and contains the proper fluids and fuel - Perform light vehicle maintenance tasks, such as topping off fluids, adding air to tires - Complete a 360-degree visual inspection of vehicle prior to use - Utilize electronic or paper daily record of condition, use, mileage, and damage - Greet Senators and staff professionally - Open vehicle doors and assist passengers in embarking and disembarking - Transport Senators and staff to and from airports, hotels, and other locations safely while selecting the fastest and most direct route(s) based on local traffic and road closures - Load bags and possessions and assist passengers entering the vehicle - Provide information to passengers, as needed during travel - Observe established protocols when greeting and transporting dignitaries, their families, and guests such as using an umbrella during inclement weather - Abide by all traffic rules, regulations, transportation policy and speed limits - Follows accident protocol in the event of an accident - Complete errands for Senators as required such as pickup, delivery of mail or packages, and other official business documents - Maintain a clean and professional attire while transporting Senators and staff - Able to perform duties outside the normal working hours to include early mornings, late nights, holidays, and weekends - Other duties as assigned Physical demands [May have extended periods of driving, standing, sitting, and lifting of items up to 50lbs]{franklin="" gothic="" book",sans-serif"=""} minimum qualifications Must be able to read and understand rules, operating and maintenance manuals and travel instructions Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adopt quickly and work effectively with all []{style="font- "}
