position summary [The Custodian is responsible for the general routine care, maintenance and manual housekeeping of all Legislative buildings, offices, restrooms, and Legislative Hall. He/she is expected to adhere to all rules, regulations and safety policies/protocols established by the Legislature for the safe use of chemicals and cleaning solvents. ?]{franklin="" gothic="" book",sans-serif"=""} Duties and responsibilities - Clean building entrances and exits, offices, Legislative Hall, conference rooms and building floors by dusting, waxing, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, wiping (windowsills, blinds, railings, bookshelves and fixtures) or vacuuming all carpeted areas - Gather and disposes of trash and wastepaper from offices, rooms, restrooms, Legislative Hall, and places them in receptacle bins - Clean windows, doors, glass partitions and mirrors - Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment with the use of ladders when needed - Clean and polish furniture and light fixtures - Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers - Restock disposables to include toiletries, air fresheners, disinfecting hand soap and other restroom supplies - Maintain proper procedures for the use of power equipment to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, and staff - Assist with the setup or removal of decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or equipment utilized for events and meetings - Assist with the loading and unloading of supplies delivered to the Legislature building - Responsible for notifying supervisor(s) of any damages, and defects within the Legislature . - Responsible for maintaining cleaning schedules established by supervisor(s).[]{#_Hlk109390759} - Ensure equipment and supplies are secured and stored properly - Other duties as required and assigned by Custodial Supervisor and/or Director of Facilities Physical demands [Requires a significant amount of lifting of objects, 30lbs or more pulling, pushing, stretching, bending, standing for long hours with some exposure elements such as dust, dirt fumes and unpleasant odors.
