Job Summary:The HVAC Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems at our clients facility. The role involves ensuring that all HVAC systems are operating efficiently and safely, in compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities: - Installation and Maintenance: - Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including but not limited to central air conditioners, mini-split units, chillers, and refrigeration units. - Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that HVAC systems operate efficiently. To include cleaning of refrigeration coils and cleaning and replacement of air filters. - Troubleshooting and Repair: - Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions, and make necessary repairs in a timely manner. - Replace or repair defective components, such as compressors, motors, and thermostats. - Safety and Compliance: - Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing HVAC tasks to ensure a safe working environment. - Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards, particularly those specific to the oil and gas industry. - Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor hours. - Prepare reports on the status of HVAC systems and any issues encountered. - Collaboration: - Work closely with other maintenance team members, engineers, and operations staff to ensure seamless facility operations. - Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices. - Emergency Response: - Be available for on-call duty to respond to HVAC emergencies and provide necessary repairs outside of regular working hours. Qualifications: - Education: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship preferred. - Experience: - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC technician, preferably in an industrial or oil terminal setting. - Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls. - Certifications: - EPA 608 Certification required. - HVAC certification or licensure from a recognized authority preferred. - Skills and Abilities: - Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 pounds). - Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. - Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical endurance and dexterity. Working Conditions: - Work is performed in a variety of environments, including indoors, outdoors, and in confined spaces. - Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. - Potential exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
