In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day. The College of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is seeking to fill a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at West Chester Hospital. This position will provide physician support in the admission process for a dedicated 24/7 hospitalist group. This position may provide post operative medical consults and provide cross cover care for the inpatient units in the hospital. Essential Functions Provide advanced medical care across the continuum of services to patients in the inpatient service areas. Perform physical exam based upon age and patient history as per the Standard Care Arrangement with a collaborating physician. Orders, interprets and evaluates laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies to assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Develops a treatment plan in collaboration with the physician and members of the multidisciplinary care team. May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by state and UC Health prescriptive authority. As requested, actively develop, and participate in providing evidence-based education presentations and other learning activities for diverse disciplines. Participate in Medical Team Rounds. Actively involved with Quality Management, data collection and performance improvement initiatives. Other activities and/or duties assigned to achieve the overall mission of the position within the Department. Minimum Requirements Nurse Practitioner: Required Education Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority. Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty. Required Experience Three (3) years nursing experience. Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty. - OR - Physician Assistant: Required Education Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Required Experience Minimum of one (1) year experience is required.
