About The Role We are seeking a Senior Development Manager for the Data Platform Engineering team with the drive and expertise to design and build large scale complex applications for our cloud data platform. This role involves building high-traffic, data-intensive applications that are crucial for our daily operations. You'll be an integral part of Data Platform team and you will take the helm in developing large-scale systems on AWS, Databricks, Tableau, Web Focus, Airflow, and Snowflake utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to deliver secure and scalable solutions. You'll set the best engineering practices and build repeatable patterns and pipelines for our engineering teams. You are well versed with configuration management tools to ensure the robustness and efficiency of our services. You will be in the thick of problem-solving challenges, drawing from your extensive experience to maintain the high availability of our systems and ensure our infrastructure's security and compliance. Your expertise will define how we create a world class cloud data platform that will lay the foundation for advanced data use cases. About The Team Worldpay Cloud Data Platform team provides WorldPay big Data capabilities including large scale data processing, analytics, fraud platforms, machine learning engineering, stream processing and data insights. Worldpay Cloud Data Platform team help maintain and advance cloud data platforms and services to build data products powering our business services and customers. What You'll Own Leadership Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers with expertise in AWS, Databricks, Tableau, Web Focus, Airflow Automate operation, installation, and monitoring of the data visualization platform components in our infrastructure stack in cloud and in on-premises data centers Manage and resolve critical support issues with a high degree of technical complexity Measure and monitor service and support performance and health (SLAs, KPIs, etc.) Plan and implement upgrades of tools and design system enhancements with emerging features. Collaborate with engineering team on technical strategies, design patterns, and practices relevant to the optimization and continuous improvement of BI platform within the organization Design, optimize, document, and implement the operational aspects for administering various BI tools within WP data platform ecosystem Develop and maintain operational runbooks and training curriculam for support team Provide enterprise-wide data visualization technical oversight and mentorship for geographically dispersed colleagues and contracted team members Implement release management, governance, cost monitoring, user security auditing and performance optimizations to improve customer experience and system reliability Apply emerging
