Primary Function The primary responsibility of this position is to troubleshoot and correct mechanical, electrical, and control issues. This position is also responsible for executing PM's and inspections as determined by the Maintenance Supervisor. You will play a critical role in maintaining our commitment to quality by ensuring every assignment is completed to the highest standards. Responsibilities & Duties Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment Repairs electrical equipment/systems and control circuits; and replaces faulty electrical equipment as needed. Electrical work includes maintaining and replacing three phase motors (up to 200 HP), Programmable Logical Controls (PLC), and variable frequency drives (VFD's) Calibrates and repairs pneumatic, hydraulic, and other mechanical systems on production equipment to assure optimum performance of that production process Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Use laptop computer to communicate with PLC to troubleshoot inputs and outputs, understanding of ladder logic. No need to program PLC's, however the ability to edit code a plus. Education & Experience Requirements Certification in electrical maintenance. 2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes; motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems A strong trouble shooting and problem-solving ability with mechanical & electrical aptitude Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings Must be fully computer literate with Microsoft environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner Ability to work various shifts / overtime / days per week Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Military training and/or Technical School preferred. Additional coursework in electrical and electronic troubleshooting, PLCs, and variable frequency drive is a plus. Key Competencies Proficiency in using multi-meter, megger, thermal scanning camera. Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor modifications in programming. Familiarity with motors, including procedures for replacing motors up to 200 horsepower. Understanding relay logic, hard-wired logic, and panel building is a plus. Knowledge of safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
