POSITION SUMMARY: This co-op position will assist IT with the execution of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives in support of R&D/Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering & Quality Assurance business functions. Collaborate & coordinate with cross-functional departments & PLM team perform the following: Analyze, identify, document pain points & potential opportunities to improve existing New Product Development (NPD) & Sustaining Engineering (SE) processes Technical landscape assessments on legacy CAD & Document/BOM management technologies, document the data models & volumes of data for each data type Re-engineering, designing improved, future state NPD & SE processes in accordance with industry best practices Developing, documenting requirements for a PLM solution to enable, automate the future state NPD & SE processes Scripting & executing Quality Assurance testing for in-process, PLM-related projects Willing to learn new tools and technologies and configure them according to business needs with minimal guidance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Work under the direction of the PLM BA & PLM Solution Architect to assist with the following: Model current & future state business processes using graphical modeling tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio), capture key metrics, help prioritize process improvement opportunities Document outcomes, decisions, requirements for process improvements & enabling PLM-related technologies in a workshop setting Prepare & support demonstrations of electronic BOM & Change Management scenarios using PLM software Coordinate & collaborate with legacy system owners for Solidworks CAD, Solidworks PDM & MasterControl (document & change control) systems to analyze & document existing data models & counts for each data type Execute Quality Assurance test scripts for in-process PLM projects ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Regular and predictable work performance Ability to work under fast-paced conditions Ability to make decisions and use good judgement Ability to prioritize various duties and multitask as required Ability to successfully work with others Additional duties as assigned BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Enrollment in a STEM, college degree program with an interest in gaining experience in any combination of R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance disci
