Bon Secours Mercy Health Manager - System Flex Internal Travel Program in Cincinnati, Ohio

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Mgr Internal Nurse Travel Program will manage the internal traveler program (ITP) will have 24/7 responsibility and oversight of the system internal traveler associates and the operational components of the program. The manager will be responsible for ITP assignment location in collaboration with 3rd party vendor, direct management of ITP associates and ensuring ITP metrics and goals are being met.

Essential Job Functions

  • Directly supervises associates; leads team by recognizing and rewarding teamwork, eliminating barriers, securing resources and promoting problem-solving; manages performance deficits of associates; recognizes and rewards performance; maintains positive relationships with staff as well as other stakeholders for continuous improvement of satisfaction levels; communicates regularly with team and individual staff members regarding organizational and departmental programs and initiatives.

  • Assures that all expectations for customer service are met; communicates with associates and leaders proactively, as well as when collaborative solutions are needed; positively represents the department to others; responds in a timely fashion to complaints; follows up on actions taken.

  • Oversight of all 24/7 responsibilities in the day to day management of the internal traveler program, including coordination of travel assignments with 3rd party vendor, collaboration with ROC to determine assignment needs, and communication with site leaders.

  • In collaboration with 3rd party vendor, ensures ITP associates have met compliance requirements for each location assigned to.

  • Responsible for communicating BSMH educational, organizational or compliance requirements with ITP associates.

  • Monitors effectiveness of program through evaluation of site-level and associate-level satisfaction and works on continuous improvement of operational process.

  • Collaborates with talent acquisition and 3rd party vendor to strategize effective recruitment plans are in place. Participates in interviews and onboarding process.

  • Responsible for requesting, or creating reporting to reflect financial, quality and other ITP strategic goals are being met. Creates solutions to inefficiencies within the program.

Licensing/Certification

Current RN License in the state in which they are working or covered by compact (required)

Education

Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) (required)

Master’s Degree in a Healthcare related field (preferred)

Work Experience

1 year of recent nursing leadership (required)

2-5 years of recent nursing leadership (preferred)

Experience with agency, traveler nursing (preferred)

Working Conditions

Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel.

Associate must live with BSMH footprint

General office environment.

Prolonged periods of working alone.
