Job Description Summary

Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

  • Roles and Responsibilities

Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.

Define processes, IT tools, trainings, value stream, etc. to be used by the manufacturing community.

Warehouse and Logistics Experience

Project controls

Master Scheduling Experience

Strong Open Plan background including coding & report creation

Critical Path Management

Ability to create and maintain material/engine/program level schedules

Receiving & Kitting coordination

Experienced with Engine build and Instrumentation scheduling & application

LOB/Cell Load

Schedule creation, maintenance & reporting for Assembly/IAS/Test

Ability to train scheduling concepts in Open Plan Applications

Open Plan System Administrator

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Create & execute master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Interface with software tools such as Oracle, GPS, Impact, CAS, Open Plan, Digital Thread Intelligence, and a variety of access databases. Particularly proficient with Open Plan.The role will interface with Govt Property activities such as Inventory & Reconciliation. Contract closeouts & validation reporting.

Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED and at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, materials, program management, open plan ). + Minimum of 3 years of experience in (manufacturing, engineering, materials, program management, open plan.)

Ability and willingness to obtain US Govt security clearance.

Desired Characteristics
