Position Summary

This position is part of the Surgical R&D program management team and supports the management of the Surgical product portfolio by leading new product development and sustaining initiatives by collaborating cross-functionally to ensure Surgical programs are executed in line with strategic BU objectives, and maximizing team output by assuring resources are allocated to the most impactful projects.

The PM will support business initiatives through a methodical approach of planning, executing, and controlling projects from start to finish. The PM will ensure transparent display and communication of information on program proposals impacting the product portfolio, including approval, prioritization, resource allocation, program status, and budget planning and tracking.

The PM is a pivotal position, facilitating communication between the Surgical business unit and corporate support functions. Strong communication skills are essential to present and communicate project achievements, metrics, risk and mitigation plans to senior management and cross functionally within Teleflex.

The PM contributes to strategy, operations, and business decisions that affect the success for the Surgical business program execution. Ensures consistent practices throughout all phases of the project life cycle and across functional teams. Uses professional project management concepts and frameworks in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in a creative and effective way. Exercises a balance of independent judgment and group organization in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Principal Responsibilities

• Lead cross functional teams responsible for daily activities associated with Surgical NPD projects and the Sustaining portfolio for Internal Stapling.

• Responsible for the management of the Sustaining Internal Stapling portfolio by triaging intake requests, assessing their priority along with business and key stakeholders, and ensuring the sustaining program execution is aligned with the prioritization.

• Prepare and communicate project status reports, identifying deliverables, resources, risks per target timelines and requirements. Facilitate identification of project impacts across all business areas.

• Support business areas when roadblocks are identified and aid in successful removal of obstacles (escalating where appropriate).

• Accountable for the successful delivery of multiple, simultaneous projects and programs, following Project Management best practice.

• Actively support the PMO to continuously raise the standard of project leadership and develop a learning PMO culture.

• Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships within Teleflex shared service functions.

• Maintain and monitor project budgets, directing the efficient use of resources to effectively complete projects.

• Prepare project summary reports, develop project plans, identify risk and communicate mitigation activities.

• Prepare and deliver project status presentations to Management regularly.

• Partner with Technical and Marketing leads for portfolio management of specific product family management.

• Negotiate and resolve any conflicts and drive decisions among team / functional members to accomplish project and business goals.

• Define project resource requirements and negotiate with functional managers to obtain resources necessary to support assigned programs.

• Adhere to all regulatory agency standards, company quality standards and corporate policies.

• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as business needs demand.

Education / Experience Requirements

• BS in technical discipline (i.e. engineering, bio-science).

• Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in project or program management working in a technical discipline, medical device and/or engineering preferred.

• PMP certified is desirable; at a minimum, proficiency with design control standards is required.

• Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects through various stages of a product lifecycle.

• Ability to build trust and form effective relationships with all levels of stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and Teams.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Knowledgeable of lifecycle management planning, requirements, and implementation.

• Demonstrated customer relations, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

• Strong leadership and communication skills a MUST.

• Experience working on a virtual team.

• Self-starter with a strong proactive work ethic, well-organized and detail-oriented.

• Proven ability to influence across functions, drive collaboration, and lead change.

The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $130,000- $135,000K; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in a 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
