Industrial Staffing Services Radiology Technologist in Cincinnati, Ohio

Performs routine radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable examinations in the diagnostic department of Radiology, on nursing units, outpatient areas, and the surgery department. Job Responsibilities Takes radiographs per physician orders. Must be versatile within the diagnostic department of Radiology. Protects all patients and employees from unnecessary radiation. Has knowledge of the front desk operations as well as the computer systems and reports all equipment problems to manager and Clinical Engineers. Can schedule all exams done through the whole department-alerting a supervisor when necessary. Can use the centralized transport program for patient transportation. Can look up pertinent information in the computer systems concerning patient exams, ordering, reprinting, or canceling when necessary. Able to interact professionally with other departments. Can effectively call in needed on-call imaging associates as required. All equipment problems are called to the clinical engineering 24-hour phone number. Messages are communicated to co-workers, written or verbal. Managers are alerted to all equipment problems (paging during periods of on-call) if necessary. Remains available for assignment as needed. Assisting the Radiologic Technologist Students. Performs operationally required duties associated with equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance (ODH, Joint Commission), ordering of supplies, scheduling of staff, and hospital and departmental audits. Access to patient records in the course of normal operations to conduct the business of medical imaging is a responsibility of all designated personnel. Required Skills & Experience Knowledge of medical terminology, isolation, and sterile techniques/procedures. Patient positioning and equipment operation (x-ray machines and printers). Schedule Notes Duration: 13 weeks Shift: M-F 7a-5:30p, every other weekend 5:30a-4p with one week of call. Required: Must have OR experience Preferable: Experience with fluor studies. Working Conditions The work location will vary between a clinical setting and office setting. The clinical environment involves extended periods of standing, walking, reaching, and crouching. Additionally, there may be exposure to biohazard materials such as bodily specimens (e.g., blood, urine, oral fluid). Must be able to lift/carry/push and pull 20 lbs. Perform duties within the medical assistant scope of practice to ensure quality patient care Complete required documentation in the electronic health record or other modality Patient care activities including vitals, venipuncture, sputum and urine collections, immunizations and tuberculin skin testing Verify dental, behavioral, and medical health information with outside healthcare organizations Conduct office duties, including copying, filing, scanning, scheduling, and document preparation Respond to and direct clinical calls effectively and professionally in-person, telephonically, and online Assist with patient education Maintain confidentiality of all information in all communication and interactions Our Preferred Candidate has Two or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant Experience performing venipuncture and administering injections or vaccines Experience using electronic medical records Basic Life Support Certification Bilingual Shift: Full Time - Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, with an hour lunch.
