How You’ll Make an Impact
The Regional-Environmental, Health, and Safety Lead will provide leadership, professional knowledge and technical expertise in the administration and support of regulatory compliance, permitting, policy and program development and training to multiple supply chain facilities. Specific emphasis will be placed on developing and driving programs that continuously improve employee safety performance in the regions to world class standards; guiding company wide Enviromental, Health, and Safety (EHS) related objectives and supporting execution of EHS-related initiatives; and, developing and implementing regional and local EHS management systems and maintenance of applicable certifications of such systems (e.g., RC14001, ISO45001, ANSI Z10, etc.) within the assigned region. In the role, you would be responsible for:
Guide and provide support to covered facilities in management system execution, auditing, local process development/updates, and training topics.
Participate in the development of global EHS targets and objectives.
Partner with facility managers to establish and execute annual EHS targets and objectives.
Facilitate processes such as high risk programs, MOC, and Self Assessments at covered facilities.
Lead and conduct detailed hazard assessments for a variety of initiatives. Identify and recommend appropriate risk control measures.
Lead and assist sites in conducting effective root cause analyses for incidents and trends.
Partner with EHS team members to review, update or develop assigned EHS related global programs and processes.
Review and maintain covered facility sustainability and environmental permits/processes.
Track/analyze local regulatory changes and provide local direction on compliance issues.
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
What You’ll Need
4 year degree in safety, science or engineering.
5+ years in EHS, preferably with multi-site and some management experience
Solid understanding of risk assessment and control methodologies
Basic knowledge of formal auditing practices
Basic knowledge of RCRA, SWPP, and SPCC requirements
Working knowledge of comprehensive EHS management systems such as RC14001, ISO45001, or ANSI Z10
