About the team The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a key role within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, responsible for coordinating the execution of Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and ensuring the seamless delivery of value across multiple teams. The RTE coordinates and facilitates program-level processes, synchronizes ART activities, and provides technical guidance to ensure the successful implementation of large-scale Agile projects. What you'll own Program Execution: Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train using various tools and methodologies such as Kanban and other visual management tools. Planning and Facilitation: Facilitate PI (Program Increment) planning events, system demos, and Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops. Ensure alignment of deliverables with business priorities. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks and dependencies. Implement mitigation strategies and ensure that the ART remains on track. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and promoting a culture of feedback and learning within the ART. Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership and support to teams, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development. Collaboration: Foster collaboration between teams, stakeholders, and external dependencies. Act as a liaison between the ART and other parts of the organization. Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on ART performance metrics, such as velocity, quality, and delivery timelines. Use data to drive decision-making and improvements. Coaching and Mentoring: Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. PPM Tool Knowledge: Oversee the use of Agile tools (e.g., Clarity, JIRA, Rally) to ensure effective tracking and management of work items and progress. Where you'll own it While we're a large team of Worldpayers based in North America, we have collaborative spaces and regular opportunities to celebrate with each other in person. What you bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Banking and finance or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in an Agile role (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or RTE). Proven experience in managing large-scale Agile projects and Release Trains. Minimum of 2 years of financial industry experience. Certifications: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or other relevant Agile certifications.
