Description

Job Summary:

Support and oversee activities related to manufacturing supply chain, including procurement of raw materials, forecasting, inventory control, and vendor management. Create and maintain production planning and scheduling based on in-coming orders, historical trends, and expiration cycles. Support assigned staff in creating an environment focused on productivity, efficiency, vendor relations, and reduced costs while purchasing high quality materials.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day manufacturing orders and purchase orders needed to maintain steady day-to-day workflow; provide production planning documentation to Director, Manufacturing, adjusting as needed to meet on-time delivery standards.

  • Work with raw material manufacturers and vendors to secure and purchase products essential for CABVI production. This includes monitoring price increases, manufacturers current supply levels and ability to procure and deliver products to CABVI.

  • Identify, manage, and minimize risks that could affect the supply chain

  • Source new product vendors and negotiate contracts and terms to procure materials. Work with CABVI staff to integrate these new vendors into our system.

  • Maintain inventory levels of production material on-hand to meet current orders and expected orders based on historical trends.

  • Perform cycle counts and inventory to maintain accuracy of materials on hand and calculate forecasting of materials needed for future orders.

  • Participate and assist with leadership of annual inventory audits.

  • Communicate with local, state, and federal customers on issues ranging from order and production statuses, special orders, price changes, and developing new strategies to evolve the customer experience with CABVI.

  • Work with Production, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure customer needs are being met.

  • Oversee Shipping & Receiving department. Including providing daily leadership for the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.

  • Ensure that materials are received, stored, moved,and shipped in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Manage warehousing and distribution of finished goods.

  • Ensure ease of physical inventory counts and ensuring FIFO for material movement.

  • Assure labor needs and schedule

  • Optimize transportation routes and selecting logistics providers

  • Work with Director, Manufacturing to maximize on-time delivery across all product lines

  • Direct and lead Supply Chain team. Manage overall needs of team and ensure success across all product lines.

  • Utilize an innovation mindset to identify improvements in supply chain performance and implement new technologies

  • Assist Business Development in formulating and targeting new business opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. Including but not limited to taking on new product lines.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Five + years’ work experience including standard purchasing and procurement regulations and procedures, standard purchasing practices and shipping and receiving oversight.

  • Supervisory or managerial experience strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Business Central or similar ERP system experience strongly preferred, but not mandatory.

  • Ability to adapt and prioritize while balancing needs of customers and agency resources.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
