Rumpke Of Ohio Inc Surveyor in Cincinnati, Ohio

Description The Surveyor will work in conjunction with the Region Landfill Manager, Landfill Manager, Assistant Landfill Manager, and Site Engineer to provide technical surveying support at assigned facilities associated with disposal of construction and demolition, and/or commercial and residential waste at the landfill. Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Responsibilities of Position: GPS instrument operation, software programing, hardware management, & maintenance. Provide instrument and software training to operators of heavy equipment that have GPS capabilities Maintain hardware and software installation and setup for new facilities. Prepare calculations in a variety of land surveying applications including, but not limited to, CADD volumes, boundary, and topographic creation. Manage and coordinate 3rd party surveyors. Able to gather/compile and stake out "as-built" survey data for infrastructure. Complete survey and surface reviews. Perform job duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position: Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to exercise good judgment and take responsibility. Ability to take directions from multiple sources and prioritize accordingly. Ability to maintain compliance by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary Ability to follow all department rules, procedures, and instructions. Understanding of Trimble GPS applications. Must be familiar with construction equipment and the use of GPS on machines. Must be able to work away from home district with the potential for overnight stays. Good driving record; able to meet Rumpke driving qualifications. Physical Requirements in a Regular workday: Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10lbs. Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20lbs. Frequently Working outside. Occasionally Stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Continuously Working outside. Areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, other airborne matter. Additional Working Conditions/Aspects: Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Ability to travel between offices, as required. Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed. Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid driver's license (if applicable). Must successfully complete pre-employment testing. Must be able to read and speak the English language.
