PPG INDUSTRIES, INC. Manager I Maintenance in Circleville, Ohio

The Maintenance Manager oversees accomplished crafts such as electricians and machinists, and semiskilled crafts. You will manage maintenance tasks performed on facilities and equipment to ensure minimal downtime and adherence to organizational standards. The Maintenance Manager establishes preventive maintenance programs and procedures, oversees mechanics and technicians, administers training programs, and manages the inventory of spare parts. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of accomplished maintenance workers.
  • Oversee the daily work of mechanics and technicians.
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Schedule regular maintenance to prevent equipment failures and production delays.
  • Monitor and adjust maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure all production equipment meets organization standards and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with other departments to plan and implement maintenance activities.
  • Administer training programs to ensure staff are knowledgeable about proper operations, preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Keep maintenance team updated with the latest industry practices and technologies.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Order and restock parts to ensure repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history.
  • Present reports on maintenance activities and equipment status to management.
  • Ability to lift heavy things.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Complete formal trade schooling in a relevant field.
  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Contractor (e.g., electrician, machinist).
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Troubleshoot abilities.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance principles and practices.
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Work in different environmental conditions
  • Work may involve exposure to hazardous materials and conditions.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
