Warn Industries Business Intelligence Developer in Clackamas, Oregon

Position Summary:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is an engineer who is in charge of developing, deploying, and maintaining the information infrastructure and reporting capabilities for the enterprise. Provides the data, tools, and consulting to internal users so they can create their own reports or execute existing queries and reports as necessary. Provides scorecard and dashboard development support for executive management.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes and designs the data repositories required for BI reporting.

  • Develops and implements the means to load data into the repositories.

  • Works with senior management to understand their information needs.

  • Trains power users on how to develop their own reports and queries.

  • Provides consulting support on the data and tools available.

  • Monitors daily operations of the BI systems to ensure information is up to date and readily available for consumption.

  • Develops scorecards and dashboards for executive management.

  • Acts as liaison between users of information and the data/software tools suppliers.

  • Coordinates across multi-functional teams to determine requirements for new or enhanced processes or applications.

  • Communicates project details and performance to IT Leader and/or Senior Leadership.

  • Responsible for integration between new and/or existing applications.

  • Participates in decision-making processes related to software selection/procurement and in-house software development.

  • Assists with development of project budgets and management of financial performance.

  • Participates in projects in support of company strategic goals and the IT team’s goals.

  • Participates in long-term strategic planning.

  • Makes recommendations for improvements to IT Leader.

  • Responsible for continuous development of project management and leadership skills.

  • May participate is Warn Industries’ selection process as necessary.

  • Problem-solves individually or as part of a group as job duties require. May lead problem-solving activities.

  • Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area. Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management.

  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.

  • Work safely and without injury.

  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience as determined by IT Director).

  • Five or more years of experience working in BI development and support.

  • Experience working with QlikView and Power BI.

  • Experience with writing/executing SQL scripts, Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps.

  • Experience with business analysis and IT systems development.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers and visitors.

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence in English. Mathematical Skills:

Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirement.

Physical and Visual Activities:

Standing, Walking, Sitting, Lifting, Carrying, Balancing, Stooping, Reaching, Handling, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, Acuity-Far, Acuity-Near, Depth Perception, and Field of Vision. Frequent travel is required. Requires ability to sit in front of computer monitor most of an 8 hour shift.

Physical Demands:

May require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 60 pounds with assistance. Requires ability to travel frequently as business demands.

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is performed in an office environment. May be necessary to work in a shop environment as job duties require. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors.
