Aerotek Laser Machinist in Clarence, New York

Job Description

The Machinist will perform typical laser cutting of sheet metal through an automated CO2 laser machine. Responsibilities include receiving work orders from the supervisor, reviewing required raw materials, and collaborating with material handlers to retrieve and place materials. You will load appropriate programs into the machine controller, designate completed work to specific offload worktables, and ensure work folders are correctly matched and processed in the shakeout area. Additionally, you will perform preventative maintenance specific to the laser function and adjust the focal beam.

Hard Skills

  • Sheet metal manufacturing experience

  • Experience working with Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel

  • Efficient blueprint reading

  • Experience with assist gases used in laser processing (oxygen, N2, etc.)

Soft Skills

  • Time management

  • Organization skills

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position.

Work Environment

Industrial environment within a machine shop; exposure to dust, grease, and metal shavings. Use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses and Steel Toed Shoes/Boots is required.
