The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Clarks Summit State Hospital is actively seeking a highly skilled and organized HVAC Refrigeration Technician to join our Facility Services Team and Plumbing Shop. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a HVAC Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, and associated equipment of the HVAC trade. You will identify and troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions which requires analyzing equipment issues. You can expect to perform diagnostics, disassemble and reassemble equipment, repair and replace parts and controls, and test the equipment to ensure proper functioning. In this role, you will read and interpret HVAC blueprints, service manuals, and mechanical schematics to ensure proper installation, function, and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will be required to be on a 12-person on-call rotation for holidays and weekends. You may be expected to travel and work overtime hours based on operational needs. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician trainee program (commonwealth title); or Three years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, units, and equipment including one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls.

Special Requirements: You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment. This position requires an active motor vehicle license.
