Job Summary (Basic Functions): LG Chem Advance Materials, Inc. (LGCTA) isactively searching for aSr. Accountantto join our team in Clarksville, TN. The Plant Sr. Accountant is the finance and accounting leader for the location. The position is an individual contributor and is responsible for leading the finance and accounting functions for the facility.

Preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts and reporting are a large part of your day-to-day work, but being a start-up organization there will be equally ample opportunity to get involved in more strategic Finance projects.

The Sr. Accountant will manage all financial controls and accounting activities of the site, Qualified candidates will have experience working in a large, manufacturing plant and will have led the accounting department. This position is based full time in Clarksville, TN and is not a remote role.

What Youll Be Doing

Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Track and process purchase orders, and process invoices from suppliers or customers.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Oversees and manages the preparation and presentation of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual financial information for management and outside parties. This may include leading one or more period end closing activities.
  • Ensures controls are in place, general ledger accounts are reconciled on a periodic basis and that overall data and system integrity as it relates to financial data is in compliance with GAAP and Company policies.
  • Prepares and monitors financial forecasts, budgets, expenditures; coordinates variance data and allocations and performs cost estimating projects.
  • Manages local financial reporting systems and the compilation and analysis of management reports and statistical statements.
  • Manages internal and external financial statement audit requirements.
  • Support and implement HQ Finance / Accounting initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Communication:Ability to communicate, in written and oral form, detailed and technical accounting information,guidelines and standards/statutes/codes/regulations to various audiences to ensure that the information and message are understood, and to seek compliance. Ability to deliver presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience such as negotiating solutions among different parties, or providing expert support.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited university or program required.

Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of general accounting functions as well as cost accounting and standard cost setting.
  • Familiarity with profit and loss analysis, standard operating and capital budgeting
  • Advanced organization skills necessary to manage multiple assignments and priorities
  • Strong computer literacy, especially experience with financial software systems, MS Office Suite, and ERP / MRP systems
  • Five or more years of finance/accounting experience with a minimum of 2+years of experience working in a manufacturing plant required

Preferred Qualification/What Wed Like to See:

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word etc.)
  • Excellent analytical ability to effectively analyze large amounts of financial data.
