Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. What You Will Do

• Assist in a production process such as casting, milling, coiling, shipping, furnace and refractory.

• Operate mobile equipment

• Operate heavy industrial equipment/processes

• Operate hand/power tools

• Complete the appropriate skill level criteria of the progression program

• Perform labor type work and keep facilities clean and free from job related safety hazards.

• Performs other duties as required

What You Bring To Freeport

• Must be qualified in two major positions as defined in the Progression program

• Must meet prior level progression criteria and/or two (2) year related experience

• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company

• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

• Ability to interact effectively with others

• Ability to ascend and descend ladders

• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces

• Ability and willingness to learn and apply new or changing job-related tasks as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Operator successfully cross-trained in 3-4 areas of the rod mill operation process

• Must be able to monitor the operational status of the area in which the operator is training

• Successfully cross-trained in the area of the process for the minimum recommended time frame

• Show knowledge and understanding of Safely operating the equipment and how it pertains to the overall process

• Willingness to take an assessment given by an Operation Supervisor

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently  $22.50 - $30.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
