Overview

Honeywell International Inc. is seeking candidates for an opportunity as a Senior Export Compliance Officer, who will report directly to a Director on the corporate Export Compliance Leadership Team. The Senior Export Compliance Officer’s primary responsibility will be developing and delivering training and communications. In addition, the individual will be responsible for supporting audits, providing guidance to Honeywell personnel in business and functional roles on complying with U.S. export laws and regulations; and enhancing the function’s overall export compliance program. Specific areas of focus include:

  • Developing, reviewing, updating, and implementing comprehensive export compliance training to drive the Company’s overall compliance with export laws and regulations

  • Hosting and delivering export compliance training to the business and functional employees

  • Coordinating and facilitating monthly team all hands meetings/town halls

  • Developing communications related to export compliance requirements, regulatory changes, process improvements, training opportunities, etc. via email, through training, and other communication vehicles

  • Providing export guidance to Honeywell’s business teams – both strategic and tactical

  • Assisting in the implementation of the comprehensive export compliance procedures and forms to drive the Company’s overall compliance with export laws and regulations

  • Supporting the Export Compliance investigations team in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints

  • Performing or supporting export related testing and monitoring including facilitation of data gathering requests

  • Supporting the development and implementation of compliance metrics, key performance indicators, and key risk indicators

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, communicate training

  • Tracking training metrics and training completions through online systems

  • Develop and share communications from the function

  • Support audits, transaction testing, metrics gathering

  • Provide guidance on export regulations

  • Communicate clearly with business and functional personnel on export-related matters

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 2 years of experience working for a multinational company or a U.S. defense contractor

  • US. Person status as defined by the ITAR

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of one year export compliance experience

  • Knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

  • One (1) year of export compliance experience

  • Experience with audits

  • Strong writing skills

  • Experience in drafting procedures, forms, reports, contracts, agreements, licenses, or presentations

  • Proactive, well-organized, highly motivated

  • Ability to present to small and large groups with participants from various levels

  • Ability to work independently once tasks are assigned

  • Aptitude for compliance

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working in a compliance-related role, especially one involving export compliance, is a plus

  • Detailed knowledge of the export regulations (ITAR and EAR), is plus

  • Experience with MS Office

  • Experience with developing or using digital tools
