The R&D Engineering Co-op position is for our Product Engineering Group focused in the Commercialization Engineering or Process Engineering. The co-op will be assigned a mentor and at least one "real world" project to complete during their assignment. he R&D Engineering Co-op position is for our Product Engineering Group focused in the Commercialization Engineering or Process Engineering. We are looking for innovative thinkers that are proven problem solvers. The co-op will be assigned a mentor and at least one "real world" project to complete during their assignment. Initially the individual would be expected to become skilled at making and testing paint. They would be responsible for assisting in optimizing formulations and processes through Design of Experiments and statistical analysis of the data. Potential to work with Operations for site projects. They will also be expected to participate in monthly and quarterly meetings presenting their work as needed. This position is for a minimum of 6 months starting in May 2025 with the option of being extended to 12 months. EDUCATION Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Be a rising or current sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the Co-Op program Must have a HS diploma or GED Preferred Currently enrolled as Junior or Senior Chemical Engineering major Minimum 2.8 GPA KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Must have access to reliable transportation and housing Must be at least 18 years of age Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total of 6 months with or without reasonable accommodation Preferred Skilled at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Basic understanding of information technology infrastructure and computer platforms Working knowledge of Minitab and Business Objects Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
