Abeona HR Manager in Cleveland, Ohio

Abeona Therapeutics, an innovative gene therapy company, is looking for a dynamic, highly driven HR Manager. Reporting to the Head of HR, the HR Manager will develop programs and provide guidance to key stakeholders spanning HR operations, payroll, employee engagement, performance management, learning & development, talent acquisition and other HR areas. 

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Serve as payroll backup and manage semi-monthly payroll when needed.

    HR Operations

  • Establish strong connections between assigned business units and the HR function, ensuring a seamless, consistent and first-class HR service delivery;

  • Own or support key HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, employee leaves, job description reviews and updates and company policy reviews and updates.

  • Manage and update employee data in HRIS and Talent Management system.

    Talent Acquisition

  • Work within company's ATS, post and manage full-cycle recruiting for select open positions.

  • Screen resumes, interview candidates for a variety of roles and make hiring recommendations and lead offer process.

  • Partner with RPO and Agency partners to fill positions.

    Talent Management

  • Support the annual Performance Management cycle, including employee communications, reports, trainings, and reporting to ensure that all cycle milestones occur according to the PM cycle calendar;

  • Design and manage employee engagement programs.

  • Manage employee relations issues for assigned client groups including progressive discipline and PIPs, and provide coaching to managers.

    Learning and Development

  • Manage employee learning and development training curriculum, schedules and training vendors.

  • Identify ongoing learning needs, establish the education program portfolio, create toolkits and guidelines. 

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; 

  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience with a well-rounded knowledge of various HR areas; 

  • Strong business acumen, high energy and professional drive; 

  • High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive information and keep confidences;

  • Technology savvy – experience working with and/or implementing an HRIS and ATS as well as strong excel knowledge;

  • The ability to be comfortable with both tactical and strategic workload and willing to "roll up your sleeves";

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; 

  • Basic knowledge of legal requirements and key legislature like FLSA and FMLA to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate legal and/or compliance risks;

  • Strong presentation skills; 

  • Strong verbal communication, written and consultative skills; 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner effectively as part of a team.
