Spanish American Committee - OMJ|CC Lead Childcare Teacher in Cleveland, Ohio

  1. Curriculum Development and Implementation:
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans that promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.
  • Turn in your lesson plan to the office every Wednesday for review.
  • Create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and curiosity.
  1. Child Supervision and Support:
  • Provide attentive supervision and support to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, building trust and rapport through caring interactions and responsive caregiving.
  1. Individualized Instruction and Assessment:
  • Assess the needs, interests, and abilities of each child and adapt teaching strategies accordingly to meet their unique developmental goals.
  • Offer individualized attention and support to children with special needs or challenges, collaborating with families and other professionals as needed.
  1. Classroom Management:
  • Establish clear and consistent routines and expectations for behavior, promoting a respectful and inclusive classroom community.
  • Manage transitions smoothly and effectively, maintaining a calm and organized learning environment.
  1. Parent Communication and Partnership:
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, sharing insights, updates, and observations about children's progress and development.
  • Collaborate with families to support continuity of care between home and school, fostering a strong sense of partnership and mutual respect.
  1. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's attendance, developmental milestones, and individualized learning plans.
  • Complete required documentation for licensing, accreditation, and developmental screenings, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  1. Professional Development and Growth:
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of child development principles.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in early childhood education, incorporating new ideas and techniques into classroom practice.

     

  1. Team Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other members of the childcare team, sharing ideas, resources, and support to create a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
  • Communicate openly and respectfully with coworkers, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to teamwork.
  1. Health and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintaining a clean and sanitary classroom environment, administering medication as needed, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Once a week: full sanitation of toys/shelves/tables/chairs/bathrooms
  1. Cultural Competence and Diversity:
  • Respect and celebrate the cultural, linguistic, and familial diversity of children and families in the classroom, incorporating inclusive practices and materials that reflect their backgrounds and experiences.

Shifts:

First Shift: 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM
