OMJ|CC Machine Shop Supervisor - OMJ|CC in Cleveland, Ohio

Ohio Means Jobs is sourcing a Machine Shop Supervisor forĀ a custom manufacturer of forged, machined, and fully assembled products. First, second and third shifts are available.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day production of the machine shop.
  • Establish and adjust the machine shop floor to meet production schedules.
  • Lead all on-floor activities as per the production schedule in the machine shop.
  • Identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to address production needs.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new employees and the modification of internal training processes.
  • Develop and implement detailed operating procedures for training and production purposes.
  • Establish, implement, update, and adhere to quality and safety standards within your department.
  • Work with the production management team to ensure goals are being met daily, including the ability to move and schedule employees in areas that improve efficiency and increase productivity.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience in leading or supervising in a machine shop or heavy CNC industrial environment is required.
  • Machining and CNC programming background required.
  • Blueprint reading required.
  • Previous tool and die experience is preferred.
  • Experience in steel, forging, or stamping, or machining is preferred.
  • CAD/CAM knowledge required.
  • Tool & Die background a plus.
  • Previous experience with production planning and scheduling.
  • Technical writing skills required.
  • Ability to develop and write detailed operating procedures and training manuals required.
  • Self-disciplined to ensure implemented processes and procedures are maintained and updated in a timely manner.
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience with GD & T preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work in a hot and dirty heavy industrial manufacturing environment is required.
