OMJ|CC Maintenance Technician in Cleveland, Ohio

Ohio Means Jobs Cuyahoga County is sourcing Maintenance Technicians for a Cleveland-based full-service custom compounder and reclaim house, offering toll grinding, pulverizing, extruding, and material reprocessing.

Position Responsibilities:

As a maintenance technician, you will maintain all production equipment to ensure downtime is minimized and perform all necessary repairs to machines, building, and premises.

  • Machinery repairs and plant maintenance
  • General, preventative, and plant maintenance
  • Make all necessary repairs to machinery as breakdowns occur
  • Troubleshoot to diagnose potential problems
  • Maintain appropriate documentation
  • Evaluate repairs for effectiveness and accuracy
  • Review Maintenance Request Forms on a daily basis to ensure any immediate repairs to equipment are made
  • Ensure all plant-related repairs are made as assigned
  • Perform weekly inspections of the general plant conditions

Technical Skills Needed for this Position:

*Required; strong experience in this area is preferred

Experience:

  • Electrical systems: 1 year (Required)
  • Industrial machine repair: 1 year (Required)

Other Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/equivalent or higher
  • Trade school certificate/diploma or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
  • Must have appropriate training in electrical and mechanical trades
  • Willingness to learn plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and welding trades
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to take instruction from managers, supervisors, or senior maintenance workers
  • Great attitude, teamwork, and ability to work well with others
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • At least 1 year forklift experience preferred
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
  • Computer skills, basic Windows and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot high and low voltage applications
  • VFD and PLC experience preferred
  • Ability to review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals
  • Manufacturing Production experience a plus
  • This is a labor position where lifting of up to 70 pounds, stooping, bending, and climbing of ladders is required

Hours:

Schedule:  open 24 hours.

  • 8-hour shift
  • On call rotation
  • Weekend availability (on call rotation)
  • Potentially required overtime
  • 2:30pm to 11:00pm M-F, on call weekends*
  • 11:00pm to 7:30am M-F, on call weekends*

*weekend call-ins are rotational
