Description ** This position is only for students interested in the Lab Funding Healthcare Futures Program and working in the Blood Bank - earn up to $15K Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine is AABB Accredited. It supports Level 1 Trauma Centers for Adults and Pediatric patients as well as Transplant (solid organ and stem cell), Seidman Cancer Center Inpatient and Ambulatory Infusion Care, Apheresis Center, Sickle Cell Program, Maternal Fetal Medicine and multiple Intensive Care units. Individuals in this role: Perform sample processing of all sample types Set up of inpatient and outpatient orders with minimal error rate. Ordering/receiving samples in soft for processing and the DEM (ER) desk Soarian registration of patients for shell visits Run blood gasses Load the analyzers and the automation line Tube track samples Assist with misc. lab tasks (cleaning, filing, unboxing and processing shipments) Accessioning Aliquoting Answering phones Please note: Responsibilities vary by lab and shift worked Equal Opportunity Employer -- minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
