Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland|Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a local company in Euclid, Ohio. Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Scrap Yard (Euclid, Ohio) The company is a family owned, three generation, scrap metal recycling business. Our company purchases industrial/commercial scrap to be processed by sorting, shearing, baling, or breaking. We pride ourselves on having knowledgeable, in-house mechanics to keep our machinery in excellent working condition. We are looking for someone who either has experience or is willing to learn on the job. Duties: • Physically able to work outside in all four seasons, weather permitting. • Perform service/repair on a variety of heavy machinery, such as material handler, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, semi-trucks, balers, and shears. • Coordinate with other employees to ensure work is being done safely and at the appropriate time. • Maintain an organized work area and aware of surroundings. • Regularly inspect your tools and/or machines for wear and tear or damage to ensure total functioning. We are looking for someone who is reliable, attentive, and prioritizes safety. We value problem solving and communication. We are open to individuals with a willingness to learn and can be cross trained on multiple types of tasks. There is the opportunity for growth and development within our company.
