Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Housekeeping and Laundry Aide for a local assisted care facility. The work location has two available locations one in Strongsville and the other in Highland Heights. Various shift times are available also to accommodate family/work balance. The Housekeeping and Laundry Aide will be responsible for maintaining building cleanliness and providing facility and resident laundry services. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS 1. Perform housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident suites and common areas. 2. Perform laundry services including washing, drying, folding, ironing as needed and distribution of laundry to resident suites or storage areas. 3. Follow procedures to ensure safe and proper handling and storage of cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools and equipment. 4. Maintain an accurate record of chargeable services (cleaning, personal laundry, etc). 5. Wash windows in public areas quarterly or more often if needed. 6. Assist with exterior window washing twice yearly if needed. 7. Clean public restrooms and entrance areas at least daily and replenish supplies as needed. 8. Vacuums, sweeps, scrubs, and polishes floors and carpets. 9. Deep clean all vacated apartments to prepare for the next resident. 10. Assist with room set-up and clean-up for special events. 11. Monitor supplies needed to perform job duties and report needs to supervisor. 12. Assist with transportation and lifting of residents as needed. 13. Working overtime and/or staying beyond the scheduled shift may be required if necessary, and rotating shifts may be required to meet staffing needs of the facility. 14. Punctuality and regular attendance on the premises during scheduled shifts and work hours. 15. Adhere to and carry out all facility policies and procedures, including all policies set forth in the employee handbook. 16. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Administrator. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS 1. Maintains good attendance and punctuality and follows call-off procedures. 2. Consistently shows good and accurate communication skills with residents, co-workers, supervisors, family members and visitors. 3. Consistently follows safety procedures and reports safety concerns to supervisor. 4. Consistently neat, clean and well-groomed and follows dress code. 5. Shows cooperation by consistently working well with others and responding well to supervision. 6. Shows respect for other's rights and property by consistently following the resident rights and taking good care of facility supplies and equipment. 7. Quality of work consistently meets performance standards and quantity of work consistently meets productivity standards. 8. Consistently demonstrates a good understanding of job duties and attends required in-service training. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Heated and air-conditioned, well-lit facility with minimal barriers. 2. Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 30 pounds, using proper body mechanics and/or available equipment. 3. Bending or kneeling to perform cleaning tasks. 4. Working 3-3.75 hours standing, walking and moving about without the need to sit down. 5. Working with cleaning chemicals. JOB QUALIFICATIONS 1. Willingness to learn and work. 2.
