Operations Manager (Manufacturing Manager) The Manufacturing Manager is a member of the Momentive Technologies' Highland Road Quartz manufacturing team reporting to the Operations Director and is responsible for all performance aspects of their department including safety, quality, production, cost, and delivery. The position leads a manufacturing department specializing in the processing of high purity sand utilized in fused quartz production supplying global customers in the semiconductor industry. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and coach a team of operators, production supervisors, and process engineers towards site and business goals in safety, quality, production, cost, and delivery. Develop department plans that include cost, volume, and resource requirements to meet both external and internal customer needs, while including year over year improvement. Engage workforce to eliminate at-risk conditions and behaviors in the site to continuously improve the team's environmental, health, and safety performance. Lead and/or support all aspects of the site's EHS programs, processes, and goals. Drive maintenance & reliability initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime and improve OEE. Capital project management to maintain asset health. Lead teams in continuous improvement projects towards on-time-in-full performance (OTIF), yield improvement, reduced process variances, and overall process excellence. Reduce customer complaints through solid root cause and corrective action analysis. Develop key internal stakeholder relationships with all business disciplines. Available to respond to the needs of a 24/7 facility. Basic Qualifications: BS degree in engineering or related field with a minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing work environment (required) 2+ years' of supervisory experience. Demonstrated project management skills including engagement and management of internal and external resources. Strong leadership and motivation skills within all layers of the business. Confident decision maker and willing to be hands-on. Energetic self-starter with strong leadership skills. Prior experience mentoring and coaching others with demonstrated change management skills. Demonstrated track record of developing highly effective, engaged teams. Strong Communication (written and verbal). Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications: Lean Six Sigma Certification - Green Belt level MS or MBA SAP experience (or comparable ERP knowledge) Demonstrated Mechanical Aptitude. Proficient in: Visual Management, Visual Factory, GEMBA, and 5S Root Cause Analysis Statistical Analysis and Interpretation including Designed Experiments
