Ohio Means Jobs/Cuyahoga County is sourcing Security Officers from a local provider of security services.  First and second shift positions are available.

Position Summary:

This company is seeking professional and dependable Security Officers to provide safety and security at grocery store locations across Northeast Ohio. Positions are available for both armed and unarmed officers, with pay rates dependent on experience and qualifications.

Position Responsibilities:

Site Monitoring:

• Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security of the premises.
• Monitor entrances and exits, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the premises.
• Respond promptly to any suspicious activities or emergencies.

Customer and Employee Safety:

• Provide a visible security presence to deter theft and unlawful behavior.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment for customers and store staff.
• De-escalate potential conflicts and handle security incidents professionally.

Incident Reporting:

• Document and report any incidents, accidents, or disturbances in a timely manner.
• Provide detailed written reports as required by the company or store management.

Technology Use:

• Clock in and out using the on-site kiosk-based tablet system as part of the Guard Management System (GMS).

Emergency Response:

• Act quickly in response to emergencies, including medical incidents, theft, or other security threats.
• Liaise with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.

Officers may be required to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.**

Qualifications:**

• Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and respond quickly in case of emergencies.
• Prior experience in security or a related field is preferred but not required for unarmed positions. Armed positions require certification and experience.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Must be capable of working independently while adhering to company protocols and standards.
