Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc. Senior Accountant in Cleveland, Ohio

Responsible for general accounting matters including account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and end of month reporting matters. Active involvement in the Company's Total Quality Management process as evidenced by continuous improvement of processes directed toward reducing costs, improving cycle time, increasing sales/gross profit and customer satisfaction. Carries out policies and procedures as defined in the quality manual. Continuous development through reading, schools, seminars and on-the-job training. Job Duties Develop and administer general ledger maintenance program, including financial roll-ups and chart of account maintenance. Review of account analyses. Coordinate subsidiary accounting and reporting activities with corporate. Serve as the single point of contact for subsidiaries. Develop, administer and review subsidiary reporting packages. Represent the department on cross-functional projects. Contributes significantly to the development and administration of the overall department training and quality improvement programs. Takes a leadership role in the continuous improvement program of the department. Responsible for procedures to ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with general or specific authorization. Maintain accurate, complete and timely records of business transactions. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Participate in formulating and successfully implementing goals and objectives. Access to assets within area of responsibility is permitted only in accordance with general or specific authorization. Work closely with other departments or divisions on matters of mutual concern and responsibilities. Write and deliver presentations and prepare reports as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned or directed. Review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations Coordinate internal and external audits Requirements Must have an Accounting degree; CPA is preferred 5-7 plus years of accounting experience with proven success Industrial or manufacturing industry experience is a plus Strong Excel, Access, account reconciliation skills Minimal travel required SAP experience preferred but not required Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT)is a leading value-added distributor and technical solutions provider of industrial motion, fluid power, flow control, automation technologies, and related maintenance supplies.
