Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled licensed Senior Project Architect who brings a strong technical understanding of architectural design and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and broad technical expertise, capable of delivering high-quality projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will work in a dynamic, creative and collaborative environment on a wide range of small to large federal and higher education projects, leading and supporting from a technical perspective from conception through completion.

Core responsibilities are as follows:

  • In concert with other Senior Architects and Designers, shape and guide the development of innovative and functional architectural designs.

  • Utilize architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) for detailed project plans and drawings.

  • Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations across a diverse portfolio of projects.

  • Integrate sustainable design principles into projects.

  • Mentor and guide junior team members, providing regular feedback and support to nurture their growth and development, while fostering a collaborative and supportive studio environment. Facilitate learning opportunities, encourage continuous professional development, and promote a culture of excellence and innovation within the team.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including other in-house Engineers and external consultants.

  • Address design and technical challenges with creative problem-solving.

  • Present design ideas clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders, ensuring their vision and requirements are understood and integrated into the project. Maintain strong relationships through effective communication, active listening, and responsive feedback, fostering trust and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Review drawings and specifications meticulously for accuracy and quality.

  • Stay current with industry trends, adapting to new technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus a minimum of six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Licensed Architect

  • Due to the nature of the work this hire will support, US Citizenship is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (BArch) or Bachelor of Science in Architecture + Master’s degree in Architecture with 10+ years of relevant experience in design, resolving technical issues, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience supporting Federal and/or or Higher Education projects is preferred.

  • Revit and BIM as well as experience in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, InDesign, and software such as Rhino, SketchUp, or other visualization tools.

  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures pertinent to transit projects

  • Affinity with developing details and experience in construction documents

  • Ability to lead integrated design teams of varying sizes to accomplish project delivery from concept through construction document completion and may perform construction administration

  • Ability to be client-facing and lead client discussions and charrettes

  • LEED Certification

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $140,000.00.
