Position Overview: The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing remote support for server and storage primarily within data centers located in manufacturing facilities. This role demands a high level of self-initiative, excellent communication skills, and strong technical skills. Key Responsibilities: * Provide remote managed services and support for data centers in manufacturing environments. * Manage and maintain Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Directory Services, and performance monitoring. * Support and manage VMware products, including vCenter, ESXi (6.x+), HorizonView, and vSAN. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely via phone and email, collaborating with field service personnel, distributors, integrators, and customers. * Investigate and verify product issues in software, firmware, hardware, and documentation. * Document all actions taken in appropriate systems, set expectations with customers, and follow up on actions needed to resolve issues. * Author and update Technical Notes and documentation to inform personnel and customers of solutions to common problems, installation practices, and other relevant information. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: * VMware Certified Professional (VCP). * Minimum of 2 years of experience as a VMware engineer. * Proficiency in VMware products and associated programming languages such as Windows Server, MS IIS, and SAN/vSAN architectures. * Knowledge of programming languages for cloud platforms: Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell. * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Exceptional analytical and technical skills. * Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. * Availability to address urgent VMware environment issues outside of business hours. * Familiarity with network and SAN switching technologies. * Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. * Ability to work in a global 24/7 operation environment. * Strict adherence to company standards and procedures. * Excellent troubleshooting capabilities. Scope of Work / Knowledge & Skills: * Handle diverse issues requiring evaluation and judgment in selecting methods for obtaining solutions. * Resolve a wide range of issues creatively and effectively. * Work on assignments with defined objectives and determine processes to meet goals. Desirable Requirements: * Ability to manage high-pressure work conditions. * Interest in training on company-specific technologies. * Strong commercial awareness and effective interfacing between business units. * Certifications in Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022+) and VMware (VCA/VCP). * Understanding of IT controls and compliance. * Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and remote application publishing (Citrix, RDWeb). * Linux experience. * Proficiency in office productivity software (Microsoft Office, Visio, Project). * Understanding of industry standards (ISA, ANSI, NEMA, NEC, NIST). * Knowledge of company-specific products and technologies. * Experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, EtherNet/IP, including programming, troubleshooting, design, and installation.
