Tooling Manager | Direct Hire

Job Description

The Tooling Manager role is the first level of authority in the Tooling Business Center, providing leadership, coaching, and clear direction to ensure people are working safely, meeting customer demand, solving problems, eliminating waste, and achieving goals.

Responsibilities

  • Direct assigned areas in manufacturing, processing, or support to meet customer quality, output, and on-time delivery.

  • Prepare daily production reports and attend department daily production meetings.

  • Set daily production and quality goals with the Operations Manager and ensure these goals are achieved.

  • Complete timekeeping requirements for hourly associates daily.

  • Schedule associates' shifts, approve overtime, vacations, and other personnel administrative requests with manager approval.

  • Ensure associates take all breaks and lunches within the required time period.

  • Analyze and plan short- and long-term department requirements.

  • Interface with other departments to ensure short- and long-term goals and deadlines are accomplished.

  • Walk shop floor to ensure all associates maintain productivity standards.

  • Promote teamwork, coach, and counsel associates.

  • Ensure associates comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Coach associates in their continuous improvement efforts.

  • Ensure all Environmental and Safety policies are followed.

  • Monitor material inventory and work with Procurement to ensure material flow supports production schedules.

  • Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to associates in the assigned area.

  • Work with Team Leads to develop and execute training plans for all operators to ensure they have the necessary skills and are sufficiently cross-trained.

  • Direct the implementation of Howmet Business System initiatives including lean manufacturing, 5S, standardized work, work balance, product flow, and TMP improvements.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of 5 years of management and/or supervisor experience.

Work Environment

This is a 1st shift position working Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility and availability to adjust hours as needed, including weekends. Our facility specializes in the production of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, and employees work with cutting-edge technologies in a safe and clean environment. The Operations Manager is committed to ensuring a good work-life balance for all employees.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00
